Sound familiar?
Confirmation statement — due date somewhere, filed by nobody.
Every UK limited company has a 12-month filing window from its incorporation date or last filing date. Miss it and the fine is £150. Ignore the reminder and Companies House can issue a strike-off notice. Most directors know the obligation exists. Many are not entirely certain when their window closes, what information needs to be current, or whether anyone has actually submitted it.
- Filing window missed because the due date crept up without a reminder
- Company details on the register are out of date — directors, shareholders, PSC register not reviewed
- Not certain whether last year's statement was filed correctly or filed at all
What handled looks like
OD Accountants files confirmation statements as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider — direct access to Companies House, no relay, no manual resubmission. The due date is tracked, the filing is prepared and submitted, and you receive confirmation when it is done.
- Due date tracked and filing submitted before the window closes, every year
- Company register details reviewed at each filing — directors, shareholders, PSC entries all checked
- Filing status confirmed in writing so you know exactly where things stand
- Fixed fee — no surprises, and no chasing us to find out if it has been done
What clients say about company administration
From new start-ups getting their first filings in order to established companies that have been with us for years — the pattern is the same: things get handled.
Been with OD Accountants for over a year now. Niall and the team are brilliant. They helped me set up a company and get everything I needed in place to run my business. I'm a tricky client due to my 'digital nomad' status, but their advice…
As a new start up and having never dealt with an accountant, Niall at OD Accountants has been very welcoming and supportive. All our prior queries and issues have been resolved, and he is always available to meet the needs of our team.
What the confirmation statement service covers
A fixed-fee filing service for UK limited companies, handled directly under the ACSP regime with Companies House. The due date is managed, the filing is submitted, and the register is checked each time.
Annual Confirmation Statement Filing
The confirmation statement is prepared and submitted to Companies House before your filing deadline each year. As an ACSP, OD Accountants files directly — no delays caused by a third-party relay. You receive written confirmation once the filing is accepted.
Core serviceRegister Review at Each Filing
Each confirmation statement is an opportunity to verify what Companies House holds for your company — directors, shareholders, registered office, SIC codes and the PSC (persons with significant control) register. Errors on the register do not fix themselves. They are checked and corrected at each filing cycle.
Included as standardDeadline Tracking and Reminders
Your filing window is tracked centrally — you will not miss a deadline because a calendar reminder fell through the gaps. If anything changes within the company during the year that requires a separate filing, that is flagged proactively rather than discovered at year-end.
Included as standardConsistent feedback across a decade of clients
Verified Google reviews going back more than ten years. Different industries, different sizes — the same pattern of responsiveness and straightforward service.
Hands-On, Available, Savings Cover the Fees
“Unlike my previous Accountants, Niall is far more hands-on, available for advice and able to care for me as an individual, rather than a faceless client. His fees are very reasonable and the money he has saved me more than covers them.”
Supportive, Clear, Always on the Phone
“Niall and his team are supportive, clear and directional accountants who have supported our small business staff up. They're always on the end of the phone to advise and assist and provide a top service for our accounting needs. Plus they're just nice people which helps too!!”
Years of Service, Very Competitive Prices
“I've been there for years and Niall and his team go above and beyond the duties to provide accounting services but also general advices. They are always available if you need anything while charging very competitive prices. I could not recommend them enough.”
What makes this firm different from a standard filing agent
Most confirmation statement filing services are form-filling. This one is run by a chartered management accounting firm with direct ACSP access to Companies House.
Direct ACSP Access to Companies House
OD Accountants is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, which means confirmation statements and other Companies House submissions are filed directly under the firm's own authorisation. There is no third-party relay, no intermediary platform, and no additional step between the filing and the register. Filings land correctly the first time.
Register Accuracy, Not Just Submission
A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House has accurate information about your company. Many services submit the form and stop there. OD Accountants reviews the register at each filing cycle — directors, shareholders, SIC codes, PSC entries — and flags anything that needs updating. The register leaving each filing cycle in good order is the point.
Part of a Wider Compliance Relationship
Confirmation statement filing sits alongside statutory accounts, Corporation Tax, payroll and management reporting at OD Accountants. Clients with multiple obligations do not manage multiple providers. Everything is coordinated by the same firm — which means deadlines are tracked centrally, and nothing falls through a gap between services.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
The process from first contact to first filing is short. Most of the work is done by the firm, not you.
Book a discovery call
A short call to confirm your company's filing history, current register status and what you need. No preparation required on your part — company number and a rough sense of when you last filed is enough to start.
We review the register
OD Accountants pulls your current Companies House record and checks it against your actual company structure. If anything is out of date or incorrectly recorded, that is identified before the next filing goes in.
Filing submitted and confirmed
The confirmation statement is prepared, reviewed with you where the register needs updating, and submitted directly under the ACSP authorisation. You receive written confirmation once Companies House accepts it.
Next deadline tracked automatically
Your next filing window is set in the system. You will not need to remember the date or chase a reminder — the firm tracks it and the filing happens without you having to initiate it. One compliance obligation off the list, reliably handled each year.
“The service from OD has been excellent, as has their advice. It's great to have access to a financial team who can guide us with such confidence and seamlessly integrate with our internal team. We always feel well-informed and confident about our financial processes and data. Highly recommend.”
Things people usually ask before getting started
What exactly is a confirmation statement and what happens if it is not filed?
A confirmation statement (formerly the annual return) tells Companies House that the information held on your company is accurate — directors, shareholders, registered office, SIC codes and persons with significant control. It must be filed within 14 days of the end of your 12-month review period. If it is not filed, Companies House can issue a £150 penalty and, in persistent cases, begin proceedings to strike the company off the register. The strike-off process is reversible but expensive and disruptive.
What does the confirmation statement filing service cost?
OD Accountants charges a fixed fee for confirmation statement filing — the cost is confirmed at the outset so there are no surprises. The fee covers preparation, a review of the current register, submission under the firm's ACSP authorisation and written confirmation of acceptance. Clients with other services in place — statutory accounts, Corporation Tax, payroll — typically have filing co-ordinated as part of their wider engagement. The company register is a mess. Directors have changed, the address is wrong — can you sort that before filing?
Yes. Register corrections are a standard part of the onboarding process. Changes to directors, shareholders and the registered office require separate notifications to Companies House (AP01, TM01, AD01 and related forms), which are handled alongside the confirmation statement. It is not unusual to take on a company with a register that has not been properly maintained — it is straightforward to bring it current before the next filing goes in.
Is there a long-term contract or minimum term?
No minimum term and no lock-in. If you decide to move the filing to another provider or handle it yourself, you leave with the register in good order and all filings current. The only condition is that any outstanding fees are settled before the engagement closes — which is, frankly, the same condition any firm would apply.
Do you only file confirmation statements, or can you handle other Companies House submissions too?
OD Accountants handles the full range of Companies House filings under the ACSP regime — confirmation statements, statutory accounts, changes to directors and shareholders, registered office updates and PSC register notifications. If something happens during the year that requires a filing, it does not have to wait until the next confirmation statement cycle.
