How the call works

Three steps, start to finish.

A discovery call is designed to be useful whether or not you decide to work with us. Here is exactly how it goes.

Before

Pick a time, nothing to prepare

Choose a 20-minute slot that fits your week. You will get an instant confirmation. There is nothing to gather or fill in beforehand — just turn up to the call.

During

A focused, commercial conversation

We cover your structure — sole trader, partnership or limited company — where your books and tax stand, and what you want from your numbers. You get straight answers, not a script. About 20 minutes.

After

A clear fixed-fee proposal

If it is a fit, you receive a written proposal setting out exactly what is included and what it costs. If you are switching accountants, we handle the handover. No pressure either way.

Client experience

How clients describe working with us

The service from OD has been excellent, as has their advice. It's great to have access to a financial team who can guide us with such confidence and seamlessly integrate with our internal team. We always feel well-informed and confident about our financial processes and data. Highly recommend.

Unlike my previous Accountants, Niall is far more hands-on, available for advice and able to care for me as an individual, rather than a faceless client. His fees are very reasonable and the money he has saved me more than covers them. If you need an Accountant who cares, Niall and OD Chartered Management Accountants are the way to go.

Questions

Before you book.

How long is the call and is there any obligation?+

The call runs around 20 minutes and there is no obligation whatsoever. It is a conversation to understand your business and tell you what a fixed-fee engagement would include and cost. You decide what happens next — there is no follow-up chasing.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?+

No preparation is needed. It helps to know roughly your entity type — sole trader, partnership or limited company — your approximate turnover and what you are looking for, but nothing needs to be gathered or sent over in advance.

Who will I actually be speaking to?+

You speak with founder Niall O'Driscoll FCMA, CGMA or a member of the team directly. You are not routed through a call centre or handed off to a salesperson — the person on the call is a chartered management accountant who can answer commercial questions, not just compliance ones.

What happens after the call?+

If it is a fit, you receive a clear written fixed-fee proposal setting out exactly what is included. If you are switching from another accountant, the handover is managed for you — we notify them and request your records directly. If it is not the right time, there is no pressure to proceed.

My books are behind. Should I still book a call?+

Yes — most clients arrive with books in some state of disarray, whether that is a few months or a couple of years behind. The call is the right place to talk it through. We assess what needs doing, schedule any overdue filings and get things current as part of onboarding.

None of the available times work for me. What now?+

If the slots shown do not suit your schedule, get in touch via the contact page or call the office and we will arrange a time that works around you, including early or later in the day where possible.
