Sound familiar?
Still not sure what your tax bill will be?
Running a small business in London leaves very little time to think about the finance function — and most business owners end up managing it reactively. The books are months behind. The corporation tax estimate is a guess. HMRC correspondence sits unanswered. None of this is unusual, and none of it is inevitable.
- Year-end accounts filed in a rush, with no visibility beforehand
- Tax bill arrives as a surprise — no advance planning, no time to prepare
- No meaningful reporting to show what the business is actually doing month to month
What a current set of books looks like
When the finance function is running properly, the business owner stops guessing. Tax is visible early. Reporting is current. HMRC is not a source of anxiety. That is the standard OD Accountants works to.
- Statutory accounts prepared throughout the year, filed on time with no last-minute rush
- Corporation tax estimated and planned well in advance — no surprises when the bill arrives
- Monthly management accounts and KPI dashboards showing exactly where the business stands
- Fixed monthly fee — no unexpected invoices when you need advice mid-year
What London small business owners say
From first-time business owners to established SMEs, OD Accountants has been the firm people stay with. Verified reviews going back more than a decade.
As a new start up and having never dealt with an accountant, Niall at OD Accountants has been very welcoming and supportive. All our prior queries and issues have been resolved, and he is always available to meet the needs of our team.
Unlike my previous Accountants, Niall is far more hands-on, available for advice and able to care for me as an individual, rather than a faceless client. His fees are very reasonable and the money he has saved me more than covers them. If you need an Accountant who cares, Niall and OD Chartered Management Accountants are the way to go.

From day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll through to management reporting, corporation tax and strategic finance — all delivered via cloud accounting software on a fixed monthly fee.
Compliance Handled, On Time
Statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT returns, payroll and Companies House filings — all prepared and submitted on schedule. OD Accountants is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, so confirmation statements and Companies House submissions are handled directly by the firm. Nothing falls through the gaps.

Useful for management decisions, and formatted for banks or funders if needed. You will know where the business stands before anyone else asks.
Cloud-first deliveryStrategic Finance When You Need It
For businesses that want more than compliance, OD Accountants acts as a virtual finance director — bringing the kind of commercial finance input normally reserved for larger companies. Handled a Tricky Digital Nomad Setup
“Been with OD Accountants for over a year now. Niall and the team are brilliant. They helped me set up a company and get everything I needed in place to run my business. I'm a tricky client due to my 'digital nomad' status, but their advice…”

“Niall and his team are supportive, clear and directional accountants who have supported our small business staff up. They're always on the end of the phone to advise and assist and provide a top service for our accounting needs. Plus they're just nice people which helps too!!”
What makes this firm different from the rest
There are a lot of accountants in London. Most of them handle compliance. Fewer of them give you the finance function that actually helps the business run better.
Cloud first, not an afterthought
The practice is built around modern cloud accounting software and best-of-breed SaaS integrations — not retrofitted onto legacy workflows. That means your books are current, your reporting is live and your data is accessible when you need it. The compliance output is the same as any chartered firm; the way of working is considerably more useful.
Chartered depth without the big-firm distance
Founder Niall O'Driscoll FCMA, CGMA spent 10+ years as a freelance accountant specialising in restructures and turnarounds — including contracts with listed UK and overseas companies. That depth of commercial finance experience is what small businesses at OD get access to. It is not the kind of background typically available to an SME through a standard practice.
The same team, year after year
Verified Google client reviews go back more than a decade, with multiple clients still active after 7, 10 and 11 years. Reviews consistently describe the team as hands-on and always available — not in the way firms often claim, but in the way clients specifically mention when they take the time to write a review. That kind of retention is either luck or consistency, and it has been going on too long to be luck.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most new clients are fully onboarded within two weeks. The process is designed to minimise what you have to do and to make the current state of your books clear from the start.
Book a discovery call
A short call — typically 20 to 30 minutes — to understand the business, the current state of the books and what you actually need from an accountant. No pitch, no pressure. You will leave knowing what a fixed-fee engagement would look like and whether it makes sense.
Receive a fixed-fee proposal
Based on the call, you receive a written proposal with a fixed monthly fee covering the services discussed. Nothing is billed by the hour. If the scope changes, the fee is agreed in advance — not invoiced after the fact.
We handle the transition
If you are switching from another accountant, OD Accountants manages the handover directly — requesting records, contacting your previous firm and bringing the books up to date. You do not need to chase files or explain your history twice. That is the firm's job.
Your finance function, running properly
From the first full month, your books are current, your reporting is on a schedule and your tax position is visible. Questions get answered the day you ask them. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.
“The service from OD has been excellent, as has their advice. It's great to have access to a financial team who can guide us with such confidence and seamlessly integrate with our internal team. We always feel well-informed and confident about our financial processes and data. Highly recommend.”
Things London business owners usually ask
Do you work with businesses across all of London, or only certain areas?
OD Accountants is headquartered at Suite 310, The Pillbox in Bethnal Green, E2 6GG, and works with clients across London and the South-East. The majority of the work is delivered via cloud accounting software, which means geography is largely irrelevant in practice. Clients from East London, North London and across Greater London are all served, and many clients never visit the office at all.
What does it actually cost for a small business in London?
Fees are fixed monthly and agreed in advance based on the scope of work — not billed by the hour, and not subject to surprise invoices when you have a question mid-year. Verified client reviews describe the fees as very reasonable, with tax savings typically more than covering the cost of the engagement. Indicative pricing is available on request after a brief discovery call.
My books are in a bit of a state. Is that a problem?
It is not unusual. Most clients arrive with books that are months behind or that have been managed inconsistently. OD Accountants will assess the current position on the discovery call and quote for any catch-up work as a separate fixed amount before it begins. There are no hidden charges for sorting out a backlog — the cost is agreed upfront, and then the ongoing engagement runs cleanly from there.
Is there a minimum contract term or a penalty for leaving?
No minimum term and no exit penalty. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with clean, up-to-date books and nothing further owed. The firm's client retention — with verified reviews from clients of 7, 10 and 11 years — is not the result of lock-in clauses. It is the result of the work being worth continuing.
Can you handle Companies House filings and confirmation statements directly?
Yes. OD Accountants is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), which means confirmation statements and statutory submissions to Companies House are handled directly by the firm under the ACSP regime. You do not need to manage Companies House correspondence separately or appoint a separate agent.
How far in advance will I know what my corporation tax bill is going to be?
For most clients, the corporation tax position is estimated during the year as part of the management reporting cycle — not calculated at year-end once it is too late to plan around it. That means you will know your approximate liability with enough notice to set funds aside or consider any legitimate planning options available. No year-end surprises is the standard we work to.
Less guessing about your finances. More running your business.
