Accounting East London

Accounting East London

East London accountants, based here.

Most East London businesses outgrow their accountant before they realise it — compliance gets done, but no one is watching the numbers. OD Accountants is headquartered in Bethnal Green (E2), qualified to chartered management accountant level, and built on cloud software from day one. Fixed fees, FCMA-qualified, and questions answered the day you ask them.

  • Tax, payroll and bookkeeping handled from E2 — no distance to manage
  • Know your tax position months before the deadline, not days
  • Management accounts and KPI dashboards built for your business
  • Virtual FD-level support available without hiring a finance director

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Your accountant files the return. That is all.

Plenty of East London businesses have an accountant who ticks the compliance boxes — annual accounts filed, Corporation Tax submitted — and that is more or less where the relationship ends. No one is monitoring your VAT threshold, reviewing your margins or flagging a cash-flow problem before it becomes a real one. You find out things are wrong when HMRC writes to you.

  • ✕ Year-end scramble because the books were ignored all year
  • ✕ No idea what the tax bill will be until the invoice arrives
  • ✕ Growing fast with no finance function watching the numbers

What a current set of books looks like

Cloud-first accounting means your numbers are current, visible and useful — not assembled once a year under pressure. The compliance output is the same as any other firm; the difference is that you can see what is happening in your business at any point, not just at year-end.

  • ✓ Books reconciled continuously — no year-end catch-up, no last-minute panic
  • ✓ Tax position calculated and visible well before any HMRC deadline
  • ✓ Management accounts and KPI dashboards updated monthly for growing businesses
  • ✓ Competitive fixed fees — clients consistently describe savings that more than cover the cost

What East London clients say about us

From start-ups setting up their first company to established businesses switching from a firm that stopped keeping up. A few of the reviews that represent the range.

Been with OD Accountants for over a year now. Niall and the team are brilliant. They helped me set up a company and get everything I needed in place to run my business. I'm a tricky client due to my 'digital nomad' status, but their advice…

My other-half introduced me to Niall at OD Accountants and I have to say my finances are so much the better for it. Unlike my previous Accountants, Niall is far more hands-on, available for advice and able to care for me as an individual, rather than a faceless client. His fees are very reasonable and the money he has saved me more than covers them.

What you get

The full accounting function, cloud-delivered

From day-to-day bookkeeping through to strategic management reporting and virtual FD support — all delivered from the Bethnal Green office via modern cloud accounting software.

01

Compliance Done Properly

Bookkeeping, payroll, auto-enrolment, VAT returns, statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and Companies House filings — all handled under one roof by a chartered firm. OD Accountants is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), so confirmation statements and statutory submissions are filed directly. You will not be chasing your accountant to chase Companies House.

Included as standard
02

Management Accounts and KPI Reporting

Monthly or quarterly management accounts with KPI dashboards, giving you a current view of revenue, margin and cash position rather than a historical snapshot. Reports are formatted for management teams, lenders and funders — so if you need to present to a bank or investor, the numbers are ready. Forecast and historical views included.

Available monthly or quarterly
03

Virtual Finance Director Support

For East London businesses that want strategic finance input without hiring a full-time FD, OD Accountants acts in that capacity — commercial analysis, scenario modelling, M&A support and cash-flow forecasting on an outsourced basis. Founder Niall O'Driscoll FCMA, CGMA spent 10+ years on restructures and turnarounds including listed companies, so this is not a repackaged bookkeeping service.

Why OD Accountants

What makes the difference for East London businesses

Three things that separate a firm built around cloud accounting and strategic finance from one that simply files your returns.

📍

Headquartered in East London

The office is at Suite 310, The Pillbox, Bethnal Green, E2 6GG — not a virtual address or a shared hot-desk. For East London businesses that want a local chartered firm they can actually visit, the proximity matters. Cloud delivery means the day-to-day is handled remotely, but the team is ten minutes away when it needs to be.

☁️

Cloud First from Day One

The firm was built around modern accounting software and best-of-breed SaaS integrations — not retrofitted onto legacy systems. That means your books are reconciled continuously, your KPI dashboard is updated in real time, and your tax position is visible whenever you need it. Not once a year. Not when someone gets round to it.

📈

Chartered Depth, Not Compliance Only

Founder Niall O'Driscoll FCMA, CGMA spent more than a decade on freelance restructures and turnarounds — including listed UK and overseas companies — before founding OD Accountants. That background shapes how the firm approaches every client engagement: the compliance gets done, but the conversation does not stop there. Strategy, forecasting and commercial input are part of the service.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Most clients are fully onboarded within a week of the first call. The switching process is handled by the firm — you do not need to speak to your previous accountant if you would rather not.

1

Book a Discovery Call

A 20-30 minute call to understand your business, current setup and what is not working. No commitment required. You will leave knowing exactly what a fixed-fee engagement would look like — which is more than most people know going in.

2

Receive a Fixed-Fee Proposal

A clear written proposal setting out exactly what is included and at what monthly cost. No ambiguity about what falls inside the scope and what triggers an extra charge. If it does not suit, nothing is owed.

3

We Handle the Switch

Incoming clients are onboarded onto cloud accounting software and the firm requests professional clearance from your previous accountant directly. If the books need catching up, that is assessed upfront and quoted separately so there are no surprises later.

4

Your Numbers, Always Current

From the first month, bookkeeping is continuous, tax deadlines are tracked, and management accounts are prepared to whatever frequency was agreed. The parts of running a business you like least are handled. The rest is considerably less to think about.

Questions

What East London businesses usually ask first

Are you actually based in East London, or is this just an address on a website?+

The office is Suite 310, The Pillbox, Bethnal Green, E2 6GG — a working office, not a registered address. Day-to-day accounting is handled remotely via cloud software, which is how a modern firm operates. For clients who want to come in, the office is available. For clients who never want to leave their own desk, that works too.

What does it cost, and what does the monthly fee actually include?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed upfront — you will not receive an invoice for a phone call you did not expect to be charged for. The scope of what is included is set out clearly in the proposal before anything is signed. Fees are described by existing clients as competitive, with tax savings regularly exceeding the cost of the engagement. Indicative pricing is discussed on the discovery call.

My books are in a mess. Is that a problem for switching accountants?+

It is not unusual. Most incoming clients arrive with books in some state of disarray — unfiled VAT periods, a backlog of unreconciled transactions, or records sitting in an old system that nobody has touched in months. A catch-up scope is assessed at onboarding and quoted separately so you know the full cost before committing. The switch itself, including professional clearance from your previous accountant, is handled by the firm.

Is there a long-term contract, and what happens if I want to leave?+

No long-term contract. Engagements run on a rolling monthly basis. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed beyond the work completed. The firm's interest is in clients who stay because the service is useful, not because leaving is administratively difficult.

I run a limited company with directors and employees. Can you handle all of that in one engagement?+

Yes. A typical limited company engagement covers bookkeeping, payroll and auto-enrolment, VAT returns, statutory accounts, Corporation Tax, and director self-assessment — all under one fixed fee. Companies House filings including confirmation statements are handled directly by the firm as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). Management reporting and virtual FD support are available as add-ons for businesses that need more than compliance.

How far ahead will I know what my Corporation Tax bill is going to be?+

With continuous bookkeeping and monthly management accounts in place, the Corporation Tax estimate is updated throughout the year rather than calculated in a rush at year-end. Most clients on a management accounts engagement know their likely tax position at least three to four months before the payment deadline — enough time to plan for it rather than simply absorb it.
